NYC "Must Taste" List?
Tomorrow, I'm headed to New York for a DV production course. I'm looking forward seeing my family, visiting a few old friends and just rambling around the city.
Not suprisingly, I'm going to hit up several restaurants, gourmet shops and goodie vendors on my "must taste" list while I'm in town, but the list could be waaaaaay longer. Any suggestions?

So jealous! We won't be back to NYC until next month. I'd love to make it to the Donut Plant one of these days. I'll be glad to share a few of my favorites with you. Levain Bakery - amazing cookies. Billy's Bakery, Buttercup Bakeshop, or Magnolia Bakery - I'd pick one of those. Sweet Melissa - I've only been once but I really liked it.
Thank you for the tips! I was just on Serious Eats NY reading about Sweet Melissa's -- Ed Levine & gang rave about the butterscotch pudding, so when I visit my cousins in Bklyn on Sunday, we'll have to stop by.
The Serious Eats people also really like Two Little Red Hens bakery on the UES; that's where I'm staying (on the UES, not in the bakery) so I'll have to check it out.
Thai Market sounds really good; plus they have an $8 lunch special that includes an appetizer -- awesome. Land Thai Kitchen is also supposed to be great, and has a similar lunch special.
If you have time, may I recommend:
